The book sounds like an excellent crime story, one that is engaging and shocking. It is indeed difficult to grasp for me the levels of depravity, the wives would reach for money. I will enjoy reading this gory tale of crimes. Thanks for the review!!

How wicked can some people be? Are wives killing their husbands just because of insurance money? The Wicked Wives by Gus Pelagatti sounds like a great historical book and I will definitely read it.

This story sounds very intriguing. So intriguing, in fact, that I—being the nerd that I am—couldn’t help but try to figure out which true crime it’s based on. If it is based on the case that I think it is, this story hopefully has even more layers than could have been covered in the review. The real crime was, while appalling, captivating as a story. Thank you for the helpful review.

A juicy crime story, I love it. I didn't know about these murders happening for real, they make for a good inspiration for a crime novel.

This historical mystery, which is based on a true account, sounds like a fast-paced read. Great review!

Very detailed review. The whole storyline seems interesting. Wives killing the husband for money? Even though the theme of the story seems unbelievable, according to the present scenario even, that is happening. Looking forward to reading this.

I think the author should have used a different title as Wicked Wives is a bit traditional but its a great review as you have pointed out all the elements

It's been a while I've seen an investigative story that is fiction. As a lover of such books, I found this review to be intriguing and suspense-filled. Congrats on being the BOTD.

The Wicked Wives by Gus Pelagatti sounds like an interesting novel set around the 1930s. This is where wives with different problems and challenges in their marriage conspire with a local tailor to murder their husbands for the insurance money. This story is relatable to our everyday lives today.

Those immoral wives don't have any conscience at all just to get the insurance money. They are so wicked. The book is very interesting. The author is great in making stories like this. Thanks for this great review

I'm afraid the plot reminds me of too many dime novels, although the inclusion of so many murders rather than just one is an interesting twist. Unfortunately, I'm not into historical fiction or crime novels, so I'll give this one a pass.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. The way some women were treated historically, I am actually surprised there aren’t more stories about why women kill. I think this would make for an interesting read.
