A story full of intrigue, I'm shocked to learn that it's based on real events. It's interesting to know that the author was so captivated by this story that he wrote a book about it. It's good to know that although the pace of the narrative varies, the plot is still able to engage the reader. This is certainly a book I want to read, thank you for this captivating review.

In my opinion, I think this book entirely intriguing. I'm not surprised that a wife would kill her husband for money, but it shouldn't be so. The author did a good job, and I'd love to read this book. Thanks for your review.

I am not a fan of historical fiction. So I might have to skip this book. The story about the wives trying to get insurance money is thrilling. Hope this will attract the necessary group of people. Thanks for the review. Congrats on BOTD!

This review allows me to envision the storyl8ne being played out as a movie. It makes me want to find out the in between scenes before getting to the courthouse actions. It seem that Disipio benefitted more that all the other characters, since he got a cut of the monies plus had the luxury of having relations with all the widows...Very captivating review!

I don't whether this fast pace book will suit my reading interest or not, as the husbands of two women died in the first few chapters only.
Thank you for the review

According to me, the title is apt for the book. The other title option could have been " Evil wives" . The title isn't cheesy, it fits the bill. If the women were unfaithful to their hubbies and dated or eloped with someone else, then the title can be a different one like " unfaithful wives", but here, clearly these women have no conscience and zero regrets for what they do. From the looks of it, this is totally meant for mature audience only, so I will definitely check this one out.

The plot of this book does not interest me that much, but it seems like a book that my mom might like. Murder mystery books are not really my thing. Thanks for the review though! :)

The author presents a fictionalized account of the 1930s Philadelphia housewives who murdered their husbands for insurance money. He narrates each woman's story and details the vices, i.e. gambling driving the heinous acts. The story is well written, and readers who pick the book up won't regret it.

Definitely a captivating plot, but I think I will probably pass on this one. I enjoy mysteries but as this one is based on true stories of horrible crimes, I don't think I will like it.

Since this is based on real events, I can't help but wonder how some of these women got away with murdering their husbands. It sounds cultish when they conspired just for a single man they wanted to be with. If the first pages have a fast-paced plot, I'll surely finish this book within a day. I'm intrigued about the plot twist. Congratulations on the BOTD.
