A Red Fern And An Arborvitae

A RED FERN AND AN ARBORVITAE

The night phlox and moonflowers
watched with delight…

As angels flew in
on the wings of the night…

And placed some seeds
in the warm meadow grass…

Near an arborvitae
and the sassafras…

Before too long, a red fern grew
bringing light to the meadow with her deep reddish hue…

The fern and the arborvitae
grew to be friends…

And floriographed
again and again…

The daisy, the iris,
the pansy, the rose…

Contributed daily
to their flowery prose…

They spoke of their meadow,
the grass and the trees…

And listened intently
to the sound of the bees…

A gentle rain fell
one hot summers eve…

To cool and refresh
their sweltering leaves…

Beneath nights canopy
out in the wild…

Butterflies dance,
and nature smiles…
The soil, the wind
all natures perfection…

Combine to make
friendships special connection…

A Red Fern and an Arborvitae
dance in the night…

While golden butterflies
sing with delight…

Her healing leaves
an angels gift…

To an arborvitae
oft adrift…

So thanks to friendship
lasting and mighty…

Between the Red Fern and an Arborvitae…
