Grammar is not necessary in poems. It's called poetic licence for a reaon.

Grammar is important but I think the concept of poetic licence exists for a reason.

Usually while reading books or magazines, I do focus on the grammar part but I think poetry has a different fan base. Poetry doesn't have to be perfect. And I think the same goes for the lyrics of a song.
