Who likes Dark poetry ?

The poems are usually how beautiful the nature is or how mesmerzing your love look
but i was thinking to start a different kind of poetry Dark intense heavy full of anger and frustration
what do you Guys think ?

I love that kind of poetry. Some people automatically assume that poetry has to be, as you said, about love or beauty. However, I often find it therapeutic to write a poem about a tragic occurrence or depressive state. Aren't those the best kind?

Well it depends upon the pain u have sometimes it gets worst the more u write sometimes it helps i guess it didn't help me but anyway i like writing intense n dark poems after all its a part of me and i think everyone has that side what do you say ?

I think it's all a matter of how you word that pain. If you do it like Allen Ginsberg did with his poem Howl then I'd say that is pretty intense anger. It is dark, intense, and vulgar, but he gets his pain across. It's like venting to a piece of paper. For me, personally, I always need to find a symbolic way of expressing my pain. I get most inspired by suffering and for some reason, writing about it helps release my emotions. Yes, it does get worse for that moment, but that's because you're letting any pent up emotions out as you validate your feelings through writing that poetry. Then, I feel that I can let it go.

Very well can't deny that but dont you think we exaggerate our pain by writing about it trying to expres more so going deeper than you are hurt in order to achieve that excellence in words

I'm quite a fan of Dark poetry seeing how I'm usually about to relate to it some way or the other. But the way people perceive it will depend on them and how they feel.

Dark poetry is very freeing to write and helps me release my tension and anxiety.
I feel that feelings can be over-exaggerated in these poems but sometimes the most simple of statements can be the most powerful.

Dark poetry is what I do, haha. I'm known for darker music and lyrics as far as most musicians in my area go. Also a fan of dark short stories. The darker, the better.

Honestly, I think Dark Poetry is some of the best literature. It just seems more raw and every person can relate to it. It's intriguing to say the least.

I love Emily Dickenson's "Death". Goes something like, "Because I would not stop for death he kindly stopped for me..." Appropriate for Halloween.

I haven't read much dark poetry but I know people really enjoyed some of the dark stuff I wrote as a teenager.
