Is music of the past better than today?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

I agree with this statement. The old music of various celerity singers are better than new one. Old music are melodies than new one. Even now a days most of the singers use old music mix with new words and make remix of it.

As for me, I believe that music is music, whether old or new, because those who sing them are inspired to choose them.

Though, some people might say old music but, if at all I am to choose, I'll choose the new ones because, what matter most is inspirations. So, inspirations plus advance intonation or beats of now will give the music of now an upper hand.

yes it's obvious we can't compare the old musicians of today who really took time to compose their music to the joker of today

I definitely think music of the past is way better than what we're listening to today. The only genre of music I know to have gotten better over the years is Gospel. I think our generation has a great relationship with God. (Those who are Christian of course)

I listen to music from different eras. I agree that music from the past is much better than it is today. I like to listen to artists who were singing back in the day more so than current music. I love listening to R&B music and it never gets old.

There is no comparison: the songs of the past were much better. If someone stops and listens to playlists from the 80s and compares them to today’s music, it becomes embarrassing for “modern” artists.

Both eras offer unique musical gems. While the past holds iconic classics, today's music showcases innovation and a diverse range of genres. It's a matter of personal preference, and appreciating the richness of both eras enhances the overall musical experience.

"The debate of past versus present music is subjective. Each era carries its unique charm, and personal preferences shape our musical tastes. Appreciation spans across time, echoing the diversity of melodies."

I'd say the music of the past is way better than that of the present. These days people just enter the studio and sing whatever.
