Poem entitled "Failure to Oppress"

This is a poem I wrote last year. It's a poem about a very sensitive topic....Oppresion and overcoming obstacles, whether they be self afflicted or inherited.

Failure To Oppress

I'm going forward but there trying to push me back
Forward progress.. why is defense trying to get a sack
Is it
Important to you
To steady stay distorting my view
According to you
I'm dangerous the more that I knew
The more that I grew
Problems I've seen more than a few
Warrior true
Never was afforded or suit for glory
The proof
Is when I try to loosen the noose
The second I do it's a nuisance to you

America made me
Why you wanna bury your baby
Under water join America's Navy
Then maybe
I'd swim if I wasn't as lazy
It's crazy
But money doesn't seem to amaze me
I'm tired of chasing paper
Integrity being tapered
The same ones that hate us
Are the first to congratulate
We were given a few options
A hearse or you graduate
No cursing my hand it's fate
To work til' my family's straight

I enjoyed it. It showed feeling and vulnerability, it kept my interest all the way through. It was a good poem.

It has a great cadence to it! I liked it. Well done! Just so you know though, first line, "but there trying to push me back", it should be they're.
