I like to listen to Jazz personally. It tends to get the flow moving for me and I can type to a great beat as well.

I have to listen to music when I write, otherwise whatever I write stinks. As for what I listen to, pretty much anything goes. I usually just put my iTunes on shuffle and start writing.

I have ADD, and for some odd reason, I seem to focus better with Gregorian chant in the background. So, sometimes I'll put some of that on. Otherwise I prefer silence.

I don't tend to listen to music when I'm writing, however I've been known to be in the midst of listening and a song inspire me, usually I'll put it on repeat down low and then write!

It's a good idea to use something without words, like soundscapes or classical. Although I find any kind of music distracting while I write.

It depends on what I write, in some cases I prefer some classical music like Chopin, or something like Secret Chiefs 3, these guys are great, their music is inspirational...
