The Shadow of the Sun by HSBK

Post by hansthepoet »

burn me, O' no I intend vengeance for this injustice
you say what we hear and think is but an omen of what we speak
but my premonition tells me something different

if visions and dreams could bridge the unseen
then life as we know would be over

so what if you told me so
I knew I'd be here doing exactly that

not any less guilty than the ones charged with murder

if I see you again in another ten years
what will have changed

didn't the youth we shared
say more about the stories we remember in our reminiscing
than the actual shadow of the sun
(invisible because there exists no greater power)

yet when the moon passes between this solar luminary and our eyes
whether in night or day
the waves of the ocean begin to patter in anticipation
and even the wind is seen to rustle on suspenseful end

for during these rare eclipses
colors appear that only exist for the following reason:
(but you must look closely or they will quickly disappear)

"To prove creativity is more than just proclamation, more like patient waiting for Time to bestow Her blessings for the work of an eternity in blood, sweat, and tears."
