What Type of Music Do You Enjoy Listening to While Reading?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

I recommend that you listen to loofi music. It merely has sounds and no lyrics. But it will undoubtedly make you feel relieved and calm. Therefore, you should give it a shot right now.

I like listening to albums that go along with the theme of what I'm reading. Like soft and somber for dystopian. Love songs for YA. Or something uppity for books that are funny. I also love listening to soundtracks whenever I'm writing.
How about you?(:

Lil baby. Raps at the lowest volume are my reading tablet. Although I want to learn how to take coffees, but Raps are the best.

It depends on what I'm reading, for example... if I'm reading a novel, I'd rather not listen to any music. I like to read in silence.

I listen to calm songs, especially blues in a quiet and conducive environment. I find it interesting in a way that, it makes me focus on the book the more without feeling sleepy and at the same time.

I honestly can’t deal with listening to music while reading. However, if I attempted to I would more likely choose a playlist with no lyrics, just pure sounds. Lofi music is the best example.

I like to find a single song that matches the mood of the book I am reading and then keep it on a repeated loop so I don't lose focus on the book while also getting my emotions highlighted by the song being played

The type of music I enjoy listening while reading is Instrumental music. I play it at a moderately little volume as it is relaxing and stress free. It helps me focus more on my reading and makes my mood better because of its peaceful tone.

I love listening to music that has no talking in it. Unfortunately, I am one of those people who can't concentrate on reading if I keep hearing voices in the background but I love soundtracks and instrumentals while I'm deep into a fantasy book or writing!

I must only play instrumental music when reading because my brain will start singing the lyrics no matter how involved I am in my book. :) Usually, I listen to coffee shop jazz playlists while reading. I spent so many hours in my college days sipping coffee and reading in the local cafe. It brings back good memories.

I love listening to Christian lofi or classical music. Sometimes I also listen to nature sounds. I prefer a little noise sometimes to be able to do a task. But not always. If the book is high literature than I need 'quiet' and not a ruckus.

I typically do not but when I do I prefer classical music and maybe the list of songs recommended by the autor. I can best feel the scenes with pop songs and get in the mood of reading when it rains. :)
