I tend to listen more to sounds of nature than music itself. I would prefer to hear birds tweeting away to classical music.

It really depends on what works for the person. I do listen to jazz and Yanni is my favourite..
It really works for me

Thanks for accepting it anyway, as I said early music is a culture, an act. So I will say it also depends on the kind of book a person is reading...trust me, it will work

Mine is Tiffany Alvord and Chester See's cover of "How Would You Feel". It's perfect for both writing stories and reading books!

When I am reading, I prefer it to be silent. If I am reading on an airplane, that is impossible to ask. Typically, on a plane I will be reading from my Kindle app on phone or MS surface. If that's the case, I have classical music and yoga/meditation music to play in the background with my earphones to block some of the travel noise and replace it with something close to white noise.

I would agree with you. Instrumental music is better while reading because it doesn't interfere while I'm reading and makes me focus more on the book than my surrounding.

Personally, I prefer either reading or listening to music alone.

I'm the same. I used to listen to music while reading when I was younger, but I can't do it any more. I prefer it to be quiet so I can focus. This past Christmas, I had a book with me while flying. It was so hard to concentrate especially since it was a flight where the flight attendants were constantly on the intercom trying to sell different things. I was quite frustrated by the whole situation.

Instrumental reggae, Native American flutes, or classical piano have been on heavy rotation lately, but it changes depending on what I'm writing and how focused I'm feeling. Occasionally I try listening to songs with words but it's often too distracting and I start singing along instead of reading.

For me, instrumental Celtic and Gaelic music is ideal for both reading and writing.

I think it sometimes depend on the type of book that you are reading and also the type of music you enjoy. Sometimes you might find that for some people, some music goes with different books. I personally am not choosy but I would prefer easy going music, could be pop, soul or rnb

I definitely like instrumental music, but lately, I've been listening to a lot of violin cover of songs, which help me get through some pages while reading. If not that, then I listen to rock music of some kind. Helps me get grooving through the book and lose track of time while reading.

In my opinion, the easiest and simplest way to read a book and enjoy it whole while listening to music is when you listen to instrumentals. I don't know why bit if there is a vocal on the audio i am listening while reading a book, it distracts me from the story of the book.
