To rhyme or not to rhyme...?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

However, rhyming can sound forced at times. I'm not a fan of rhymes.

It doesn't matter to me. Some poems do not rhyme, but the message is wholesome. On the other hand, there is poetry that rhyme but has no sense at all. Poetry is subtle; it’s the message that counts.

I am indifferent really. So long as it is a good piece and has a message, I don't care whether the poem rhymes or not

Poetry to me has to rhyme because it gives it consistent flavor. I do like poems or lyrics that do not rhyme either. When it has no rhyming scheme it makes it more challenging.

I like poems with no particular rhyme pattern or no rhyme at all. I believe the free and easy-to-read poems have the clearer message.

I prefer those poems that don’t rhyme. I don’t know, but I often feel those with rhyming words are effortful, and sometimes it does already not relate to the poem just because of their congested effort to sound it rhyming.

I would choose to rhyme. To rhyme is a very relaxing one specially as to poetry and music. It is very appealing and gives a very beautiful tone to me. I am being entertained and amazed in each and every rhyming words.

Rhymes are the essence of poetry style. What makes touch people heart isn't just the feeling put into the feelings. But the way the message is conveyed.

Personally I find it demotivating to read poems without rhymes. It's because they don't sound like poems but rather random literary texts.

To be honest, when the poetry hits really hard, it doesn't need to rhyme.

I prefer rhyme in RAP but for the other genres, if the artist has a beautiful voice it doesn't count for me if it rhymes.
