Thoughts on music in a foreign language

Post by VAwkOb12 »

Every once in a while you may happen to hear songs in a language don't understand what do you think of such songs?

Do you find them distasteful? Or do you like them?

Say Why for either answer

Music with melody is always welcomed,no matter in what language the song has been sung.

In the language understandable,I look for melodious poetry and the sweet composition.A song in foreign language, with nice rythem and music will surely have a great impact.

I like them. It allows me to explore how a singer can relay a message to his or her listener by tone, attitude, volume, etc. -- Can a listener understand the work's general idea without the ability to comprehend the lyrics? Also, it gives perspective of what music is like in other parts of the world -- how it mirrors our music or totally strays away from anything you've ever heard before.

When a song is good, the song is good. The language in which song is minor. For example I always take time to download the theme songs to the Spanish soap operas I enjoy watching. For example the theme song of El Cuerpo Del Deseo.

Music is music, so the language is not really what determines if the song is good or not for me. I like hearing songs with different languages though, they’re different from the music I’m used to so it’s more interesting and it’s nice to be able to experience a different interpretation of music

I believe music is a language on its own. I enjoy listening to all kinds of music irrespective of the language.

I like hearing songs in French, for some reason. Just like the sound of them. I would listen occasionally to the likes of Edith Piaf, Jaques Brel and Mireille Mathieu. My French isn't very good, so most of the time I haven't a clue what they're on about, I just like the way they're saying it.

I've always been fascinated by music in foreign languages. The first foreign music I was introduced to was Cantonese. For me listening to non-English music got me interested in different genres that I would otherwise have not touched if experienced only in English.

Not only that, but there are times when foreign songs include outside languages in their lyrics and no one would be the wiser as everything flows seamlessly. Come to think of it, most of the songs in my playlists are in another language.

I don't think language should be a barrier to good music, to be honest. If you like the melody and the rhythm, I don't see any reason why you can't enjoy a song that isn't in your native language. Despacito is one of those songs for me, as well as a number of Bollywood and anime songs.

I've been hopping on darksynth recently, especially Hollywood Burns. I'm especially enjoying "Invaders" - wish I found their music sooner.
