Who would you write a poem, a song or a lyric for?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

I would write to strangers. It's almost like painting strangers. You don't know who they are, their stories so you have the liberty of making it up

My dead friend. I’d tell him everything I wish I’d told him while he was here.

Usually, when I write a poem, song, or lyric, it ends up being related to the action and characters that I create in my stories

I would write poems, songs, and lyrics for things or experiences that are really important to me or which really touch me and that are emotional. Like a girlfriend or some loved ones, or even for a specific interesting and worthwhile experience.
In fact, things such as poetry, song or lyrics are associated with us expressing our emotions and feelings about specific situations or experiences. Mostly, it is associated with love, sorrow and such emotional situations.

I will write a song for my maker. He is my God.
And next is my girlfriend, she is selfless and lovely.

Myself. Only me can understand my poems, not because they're complex to understand or so emotional, only could understand what I feel when I put my pen on a paper or write one.

Did you crown man, with a light in his mind?
Are his thoughts wings, so that he could fly?
With a fire in hand, have you saved the blind?
Humbly he sings, is he the apple of your eye?

(Loosely to the tune of Sufjan Stevens' Fourth of July chorus)

I think the new generation would be more appropriate. It is diverse and takes in account people of all ages. I prefer a poetry which has many dimensions of a single topic.

1. God gets a strongly worded song lyrics
2. Yourself - a song, because why not
3. Your parents - they deserve a looong poem. Something pretty and maybe a little bit funny.
4. Your Girl/boyfriend or spouse - I feel like anything would be too cheesy. Maybe a short poem?
5. Your children - a lyric they can add to and create their own songs

Myself. I would write about myself because reading my past experiences facsinates and teaches me the way forward
