Help with a wedding poem

Post by beth1985 »

Im writing a poem which will feature on our wedding invite and I am having total writers block on how to finish it, I'd love any ideas! It's based on the running joke that I have large feet (for a girl), the pair of riding boots belong to my horsey partner. I just need a few lines, ideally with some good shoe puns (perfect pair, tying the knot) to finish it off. Any lines or ideas gratefully received!

Solemate

A scruffy pair of size 10 shoes
Caught a case of the big foot blues
I'll be lonely forever the converse cried
How could anyone love someone with feet of this size
I need fellow shoes to walk besides
To help me keep in step
I'm sorry but these giant feet
are ruining my rep

Little did the size 10's know,
On a far away cross country course
a scruffy pair of riding boots
were getting on a horse

Look forward to hearing from you!
