Brained By The Blues

My dogs're gittin' restless
Doldrums but the ship's listin'
Lining up for the punt- poised for the hunt
Passerbys quick to oblige with a smooge
Right from the start- straight to the heart
I got brained by the blues

My husky team's hooked up n' ready
But my lead well she don't look too steady
Cracklin' fire provides a hush- crack whip
on their hides n' yell out mush!
Even a single nugget let alone fanangle in twos
Illusive gold path I've chosen- but all I've discovered is frozen
Looks like I got brained by the blues

Louisville slugger- bugger came 'round the corner
Tire iron- crowbar- seeing stars is this lil' Jack Horner
Butterfly knife- trigger assist- guess ya git the gist
From the horse spews the same ol' news
Yeah of course I got brained by the blues

It's a sorry long whining day for my mutts
From the tundra's ice feet swollen full of cuts
Agonizesthai there they go rollin' 'round the camp
Y'know likely'll be well into springtime 'fore they revamp
Holdin' up on the range- scratchin' through the matted mange
Well ya trucked it in- got it bottled n' bagged
ain't nothin' but an overwhelmin' pile of refuse
Yep- I got brained by the blues.
