Do you write more poetry than you read?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

I used to be more into writing than reading. But it's changing now. I'm starting to really enjoy the process of reading as well.

Currently, I definitely read more than I write. I have an interest in expressing my feelings with poetry, however I am very insecure about putting my feelings out in the open. I'm fine with expressing my opinions, but feelings are a whole other matter. I'm hoping with time I will find the courage to write some poetry. I'm looking forward to it.

I read more than I write, but sometimes you just want to get loads of your emotion on a paper

Writing poetry in the middle of nothing has always been a passion of mine. I used to make one whenever I was happy, bored, thankful, or sad to communicate my feelings. As a result, I compose more poems than I read.

I don’t write any poetry. I usually just read other people’s poetry once in a while.

Nope. I'll read poetry, but that doesn't make me a poet.

absolutely!! when I write poetry usually I don't set out to write it. but when it happens its bc a bunch or words are drowning my brain & I gotta get them out & the best way I kno how to get repetitive thoughts ruminating in the brain is by putting them on paper. but then when I start to put the words on paper everything just sort of falls together so easily. it doesn't happen that often especially at this point in my life. and the last time it happened to me I was in jail & I wrote 2 of the best poems ever in my life. I am willing to share if anyone is interested as I am really proud of them & welcome feedback. I have entered them into a couple of contests although I have not won anything yet. but I have not given up hope & one time I made it to the semifinals!

Before, yes, but things shifted when I matured. As we grow older, we become busy with particular stuff, and this compels us to renounce most or some of our passion. Poetry is one of them, but it has a space in my heart.

I don't think I am endowed with the the ability to write poetry. On the other hand, I am a good reader and Listener. In other words, I will always be the audience in poetry.

I don't write any poetry if I'm being honest. I used to, but I no longer can.
