Friend (poem)

Post by Ikiri81 »

Friend

A friend is funny.
A friend is sweet.
A friend is kind.
A friend is nice.

A friend is always there for you.
Whether it is morning, or evening,
Both day and night.
Whether it is raining, snowing, or
The sun is shining bright.

A friend is always next to you.
When you are feeling sad,
or even when you are mad.
And sometimes when you are doing something bad.

A friend will come to just say hi,
And tell you something that will make you go "Why?"
A friend will be there through thick and thin.

But If a friend just is not so,
Then that friend has got to go.

Ever heard the joke about what makes a great friend? A sweet friend will talk to you when you call from jail. A good friend will bail you out. A great friend will be right next to you in the cell saying, "That was AWESOME!" :D A nice poem you composed here. I like the differences in the line format of each verse. Nice rhythm, too.

I love to write poetry. LOVE to. How many poems have you written? Got any more?
Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things that escape those who only dream at night.

This is a nice, cheerful poem. I think evening out the rhyming pattern to something more traditional would help create fluidity, but it is heartfelt.
