Nickelback

Post by CottonFioc »

Why do a lot of people hate Nickelback? Do you agree, or, like me, you think they actually make good music? Maybe they aren't always too innovative, but they are not bad. I really enjoy some of their songs and they are the one who introduced me to the rest of the music I listen to. What's your opinion on Nickelback?

I really really enjoy some of their songs and wonder why so many people hate them.
Alot of people seem to not like the lead singer and basically say his a horrible guy and that's why they get alot of hatred towards them.. dont know if it's true or not though :) xx

I love them. They are one of my all-time favorite bands.
The lyrics may not be their strongest suit.
But, Chad Kroeger's voice does it for me. I just love listening to him sing.
Faraway and lullaby are my favorites.

I don't understand why others hate Nickelback,I like their songs.
Anyway,we all have our own choice of songs and musicians.

When I was 15, Nickelback was one of the huge iconic bands at the time. They played their songs at all the school dances and used it for school slideshows too. Even now when I hear a song of theirs come on, I get excited and I am proud to sing along!

I absolutely love Nickelback. Their songs are catchy and bring me in a good mood.
I know many people hate on their lyrics. In my opinion, they definitely improved since the first song. For example, "How you remind me" is outstanding in both the lyrics and the instrumental part.

What really bothers my ears about Nickelback is Chad Kroeger’s voice. It is just way too gravely for me. I can’t stand it.

I think the hatred started because their songs sound too similar. From there, they were "coined" (seed what I did there) a one-trick pony band. It didn't help that Chad Kroeger's voice was raspy and at first looked like Jesus. I personally don't mind some of their songs, but I do hate Photograph with a passion. It's one of the songs I will never want to hear from beginning to end.

I think Nickelback is fantastic! Granted, perhaps not the most innovative lyrics or the most diverse songs, but I always sing along when I hear them!

I have to say I'm in the minority, here -- I don't really like Nickelback. I don't dig their lyricism and I think all of their music sounds too similar. (Bands can have certain sounds, but to me they sound more carbon copy between songs than some.) I know for a lot of people it's cool to hate them, which I don't like, but at the same time -- meh. They're just not for me.

I think Nickelback has some great songs, and I also never understood why they were given so much hate. How you remind me is one of my favorite songs from them.
