Poetry Writing Challenge! Just for Fun.

In ten lines or less, can you write poetry on a specified topic? I'm thinking that each month we could all contribute to a forum wherein we all show a little creativity and have a little fun doing it on a certain theme. This month's theme will be love, if everybody's good with that, love of family, love between two, anything endearing that comes to mind. Ten lines or less... Anyone in?

Love is the wind that fills our sails
Guiding our hearts through infinite trails

Love is the light that shines in our eyes
Showing us truth and making us wise

Love is the story that will never end
Twisting trough time as we ascend

Love is the mystery in front and behind
With it our fate is slowly entwined

A love lost but not forgotten holds a man true to his heart......

Love the idea Nathan, im in haha

Dreamweaver, I like your style. Thanks for the support, too. I'm glad to see you here! I liked your second verse very much. It is true that love is the greatest teacher. I enjoyed your sentiments on that. I also liked your conclusion. Very well put!

Love for a theme? Far too many love poems already for me to add another. So I'll just re-post this haiku of mine which I posted elsewhere here to no reaction:

How like summer, love.
After sweltering passion
Autumn must arrive.

Wow, I rarely see haiku in its standard form. I enjoyed that one, FNAWrite. The message is somber and true. I think the only season love doesn't come with is winter. It can never run cold if it's true.

I love this!

Ahem

I see a future that's shining bright
Now that love is in my sight
The pain of loneliness is gone
And I'm reborn with the new dawn

It's not my greatest work, but not bad! :)

I thought it was very charming, LadyErynn10. I really love poems about love. :D I liked the quote of FNAWrite, too. I don't believe a poem has to be long to be brilliant... you?

Snippet of a piece I wrote years ago... ten lines or less.. here it is
TO YOU FOREVER, Te Amo Papi
It's in your eyes that I can see
beyond who I am
You're all I'll ever need
so come and take my hand

Your smile unlockes all my emotions
the touch of your hands and lips drive me wild
I never want to be without you
so come and just be mine,

You and me together for a lifetime

I like that one, Lotus flower mind! Very sweet and lighthearted. Welcome to the forums!

Okay, everybody! It's March now... so the theme will be moments of happiness. Put a fond moment into ten lines or less. I appreciate all your contributions thus far and have enjoyed them immensely! This is a very creative and colorful lot!

Give me all your love, or give me none.
Feed me not pieces of your pity.
If you must show your kindness,
There is no lack of beggars in this city.

~ Not everything about love is rosy. Lots of it is thorny.

Hey, FunDuhMentalist!

You're new, I see. Ciao! I really liked your poem. There's musicality in there. There's emotion in there. What inspired it? I hope I'm not overstepping by asking.

I've enjoyed every poem I've seen here, everybody. I'm hoping for more, many more!

Some hearts were broken
To never again be mended.
Let's not fight it cause
Perhaps that's what Fate intended.

You are right. I am new. My emotions are not. Heartfelt words, all these.
