Have you ever been to a poetry reading?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

Yes. It was a pre-convention month in our program about a month ago when a spoken poetry contest sprung up out of nowhere. It was only a trip, and all I wanted to do was represent my class, but I never expected to win. Overall, it was a fantastic and unforgettable adventure.

Not yet, but I'd like to go to one someday. I think it'd really be a lot of fun. On the other side of things, I've attended classes and events where poetry was not read but instead, analyzed. I don't study literature anymore, but these are still my favorite parts of those classes.

I went once and it was very enjoyable. I like the confidence of poets while reciting their poems. Some of them are very creative.

The only time I went to a spoken word event was too long ago. The artists bombed and I promised myself not to attend any other. I still, however, have a liking for poetry.

I used to go a lot when I was younger but I haven’t been to a poetry reading in quite some time.
