Edgar Allen Poe Poetry

Post by Sally Balboa »

I know that Poe is the father of the short story but his poetry is what really moves me. He's honestly my favorite poet, because he so easily captures his pain with a few words, like in Annabelle Lee, or A Dream Within a Dream. I mean he was such a tormented writer, and all of my favorite poems by him are centered around his lost wife. It's endearing and makes me want to read his poems forever. I've literally checked out his complete book of works from the library more times then I count, and I'm always so reluctant to give it back.

So what are your opinions? Do you like his poetry better then his stories or vise versa?
