Long or short poems?

Post by Phooko Tebogo PC »

I personally prefer writting long poems, and it's always so amazing how I never loose the rhythm or message throughout.

Not to brag though :lol2: :lol2:

Short poems for me. I simply love those poems who are short and crisp and contains a deep emotion behind it.

I don't like a really short or really long one, but just enough to create the flow and rhythm.

Definitely short and precise poems. Poems are meant to invoke some emotions, and I believe the shorter it is, thn better the understanding.

A short poem, for me, is more substantial. The idea of short phrases that touched my heart is a fantastic experience in reading and writing poetry. Short poem for suits well with me.

To choose between long or short poems, I would choose long poem. Long poem satisfies me the most because there is a detailed approach in terms of long poems. Long poems have the ability to tell complete stories, develop characters, and deeply investigate themes. They have more room to weave different elements together.

As long as the message is powerful, the length of the poem does not really bother me. However, it can't be too long otherwise it becomes boredom.

I tend to find beauty in both of them. As someone who tends to prefer stories with a lot of detail, I find it very easy for long poems to capture my heart. However, a poem being long won't automatically make it more impactful. In fact, it is often the simplest of lines that end of being the most memorable and becoming the easiest to quote.

I prefer writing long poems but reading short poems. But I'm not so much a fan of haikus. I love my poems to be longer than that.
