No, I like it to be quiet when I read. I find music to be a distraction.

I think in general music has a big impact on moods. I like it quiet when I read, but I think my music for the day impacts my impression of what I might be reading/watching.

sometimes, of the music suits the mood in the book, especially if its a sad scene and the music is also sad. It makes the scene more emotional than it is.

I think it does, depending on the music. Like if the song was fitting to the current scene in the book, then yeah I think the emotions could be intensified, similar to the effects of music scores in movies/videos.

I don't ever really listen to music while reading. I would find this distracting, especially if I were listing to music that had English lyrics.

Yes they do because music acts as a source of different emotions and if it subsides with the material i am reading, it will change the impact.

Not really. What I am reading affects the music I'm listening to. It's the other way around for me. I' love to hear about others.

Most definitely. I tend to gravitate to certain kinds of music while reading so it's like, Taylor Swift for light, fluffy romances, Nightwish or Within Temptation for epic fantasy, or other combinations. I even tried to read The Silence of the Lambs to the film's soundtrack but that crept me out so much I had to stop.

My mood is primarily set in the morning the moment i wake up. Thats the only mood that not only affect the tone of the book i'm reading but also the choice of the very book i'll pick to read. Musict has absolutely no contribution

If the volume is low, no not much.

I remember an annoying incident. I was reading a mystery novel with 2000 chapters in my local language. I was really into Enrique's songs at that time. So, I had about 10 of them in my playlist and I decided to start with a song called Addicted that I really liked.

Somehow, the song got stuck on a loop and I read about 350 chapters of the novel in 15 hours. Afterwards, I didn't listen to any of Enrique's songs for a long time. It constantly rang in my head for a few days. I couldn't finish the novel either. Whenever I began reading, the tune played in my head and I couldn't enjoy the story at all. I waited 5 years before finishing the story.

Sometimes! Usually am reading with music, ( I usually do everything with music) a plus of listening to music that is not in my native tongue is that my brain doesn't process the lyrics as fast and it become similar to a white noise :))

I barely actually listen to the music. It's just some nice background rhythm, and it really helps with the flow. But I can do just as easily without it.
