Can prose (novels) be poetry, too?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

Can prose (novels) be poetry, too?

Post by David Bowman »

Just a quick question I'm wondering about, but this seems to come to mind when I think of James Joyce and his "musical" language in his works (he was once a poet).

Ellen Hopkins produces some amazing poetry-prose novels!!! Her style is amazing cause it's not the traditional novel format but neither is it the typical poetry format...

Thanks, I'll be sure to check her out. The thought of this kind of writing (the non-traditional kind) really interests me and have wanted to read more of it.
