The murderous obfuscation of classical music

Seeing what iTunes has done makes me weep
selling discounted concertos and butchered suites
Not unlike a pound of processed meat
there are cartoon covers of Bach and Beethoven
Two things that undoubtedly should ever be cloven
Popular culture and classics interwoven
The beautiful "river flows in you"
Once bitten, becomes Bella's Lullaby too
Identity theft becomes marketing glue
I was on a search for class and culture
I did not expect to encounter this vulture
Classical music aflame in popular sulphur

I just have a feeling that if classical musicians were included in popular award shoes and won, Kanye West would get up and try to take their award because "Beyonce album was better, these Beethoven cats don't even sing they just be playing instruments yo, it's weird!" Hahahahahahaha oh so sad

Hey, I'm not a big poetry know-it-all, but I get what you're saying here. Or at least I think I do. Modern artists flood us with Billboard hits with sampled beats from classic music, and we think, Oh, nice new song. But in fact, it's not. It's stolen goods from long gone musicians who can't exactly sue producers now for copyright infringement. In general, I like the poem. I don't know anything about poem structures though, so I can't give you any critique. I know what stanzas are. Sort of. That's about it.

I'm not big into poetry either, nor classical music, in fact this site inspired me to get into classical music to broaden my horizons. Then I got on iTunes and you have no idea the garbage they have there. You really have to research to seewhat to buy because they have all these great works cut up and then sold at a discount. A sample pack of classical music, if you will. It just inspired me to write this because I felt it was disrespectful to the music. Even if I don't always listen to it, everyone can agree classical music deserves respect.

I want to thank @DATo actually as your impassioned description of your experience with and love for Clare De Lune is what pushed me over the edge and got me to try classical music. Also thank you @zeldas_lullaby for the recommendations I bought all of them already ha ha I briefly listened to them and will report back to you.
