Do you find that listening to music improves your reading experience or detracts from it. For myself, I can't concentrate on reading while music is in the background because I either get lost in the book or lost in the music. What's your opinion?

I think it depends on the book. What type of book you're reading. Like if its some sort of book which needs proper attention and if you're not completely indulged in it, you cannot grasp the story. On the other hand there are books which require little attention, the language is easygoing and you're reading with a simple flow, so its not hard to concentrate while listening to music. As for myself, I lsten to music little often while reading. For me it's hard to concentrate, reading any kind of book I prefer silence.

I love listening to music while reading. My favorite is blues though.

I'm just like you. I either concentrate in the lyrics of the music or I concentrate on the text of the book. The only exception is if I'm in a loud place. If I'm in a loud place I'll put on instrumental music and I can usually concentrate.

When it comes to my reading habits, I personally do not prefer listening to music in the background. I find that it can be distracting and take away from my focus on the book. However, I have a good friend who enjoys pairing music with her reading experience. She often shares Spotify playlists that she believes complement the books she recommends. It can be challenging to maintain full concentration while listening to music and reading simultaneously. However, when I'm at the office, I find myself using music at work to make the time pass more smoothly while tackling mundane tasks like Excel work and data entry.

While reading, I want it quite so that I can focus more and imagine things in the story alone. On the opposite, I feel listening to music when I am writing a story that boost my imagination and made me energetic to write more.

No, it is impossible to listen to music and read at same time. To read we need more concentration otherwise we are not able to understand about the given topic.

I find music or song a distraction while reading. Even the so-called 'music to improve concentration' distracts me. I will try to listen in on the notes or the lines and end up without doing much reading.
