Poetry really has no one set definition. Shadow Poetry defines poetry as the art of writing thoughts, ideas, and dreams into imaginative language which can contain verse, pause, meter, repetition, and rhyme.
Poet - is one who writes poetry.
Poem - is a written expression of emotion or ideas in an arrangement of
words/verse most often rhythmically.
Bard - a poet.
Muse - a channel of inspiration for a poet.
Muses, in Greek mythology, were the nine daughters of the god Zeus and Mnemosyne,
the goddess of memory. The Muses were believed to inspire not only poets, but
all artist.
Nine Goddesses:
* Calliope: muse of epic poetry
* Clio: muse of history
* Erato: muse of love poetry; also known as the muse of music
* Euterpe: muse of lyric poetry
* Melpomene: muse of tragedy
* Polyhymnia: muse of sacred poetry
* Terpsichore: muse of choral songs and the dance
* Thalia: muse of comedy
* Urania: muse of astronomy

My Creative Writing teacher said, "poetry is anything that is not prose." I don't agree. He wasn't my favorite teacher. lol

Have to agree with Shadow Poetry, then.
It sounds like a clear definition, don't it? But--thank god--poetry comes in many forms.
To me, it seems like a lot of modern poetry has more internal rhymes than end rhymes. So that it reads like normal speech until you recognize the cadence and the repetition of vowel sounds, etc. I rather like it. It sounds less stiff to me than modern imitations of older poetry.
And, btw, I realize the OP was kinda spam, but though I'd reply anyhow. ^^

it`s hard to define things in this world. for every definitaion you have a counter definitaion. so i guess the best explaination is: if it`s looks like poetry for you so it`s a poetry

It's hard to define poetry. I think that only writers understand what is going on when they write poetry. I like it short with deep feelings and it can rhyme. Poetry is an attempt to pack meaningful things in the specific structure of words. Poetry expresses our feelings better than we can explain in our words.

"better than we can explain in our words"
Poetry . . . IS words?
I think you mean non-metaphorical sentences, maybe?

Poetry is not something that you can write in your comfort zone. It comes to you in most of the difficult times when you are on the verge of breaking. Poetry is turning your tears into ink, making them beautiful. My most favorite poet, Robert Frost said, "A poem begins with a lump in the throat; a homesickness or a lovesickness."

Poetry.
What do you know about poetry ?
I ?
I just know poetry is a way to express what you feel , what have been hooked you upon for so long and you can't find someone to tell what had been going on with you , When you need someone to hear your words and understand your emotions and when you find no one that can actually do that for you ....
You become a poet then and there only.
Poem is all your unhealed wounds in a raw form displaying in front of everyone , while hoping to not get judged and hoping those people will now hear you.
Thats whan known as poetry.
Hurt , unhealed wound of you in a form of beautifully written words.

Poetry is a literary art form that uses language and diction in a condensed, aesthetic way to evoke emotions, ideas, and sensations.

More than just arranging words in lines and stanzas, poetry utilizes specialized techniques and rhythmic patterns to convey meaning creatively. Some key characteristics that distinguish poetry include:

Creative use of language - Poets choose words and language very deliberately not just for literal meaning, but for sound, cadence, imagery, symbolism, puns, and more.

Words are elevated beyond their everyday meanings through vivid description and imaginative metaphors. This makes poetry so beautiful.

Rhythm and structure - Poetry often relies on meter, rhyme, repetition, and other musical elements. Lines and stanzas are structured purposefully to create rhythm, echo sounds, and employ poetic devices like alliteration. This adds to the overall beauty and memorability of the language.
