Does music help you write?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

Music definitely helps me when I am writing. Music puts my mind at ease, it subconsciously takes me to a place of relaxation and concentration. The vibes of the tunes pulls out the emotions and deep thoughts that hinder my mind and soul. I have always connected with music as I write.

I tend to write and create the best content when I play a single song on repeat, so yes.

Depending on what you call music. I love writing to soothing instrumentals. But once lyrics is added to it, I can't

Not really. I don't particularly see anything interesting there.

Yes, as long as the mood of the song is the same energy of the scene I’m writing.

Big YESSSSS, especially when I reach the action and fighting scenes. I listen to specific songs and then imagine the action taking place in my mind.

Yep. It does. I cannot read or write without music. In fact, every time I write my reviews, music is playing. It helps me focus. Is that not ironic?
