I know that many songwriters are also poets, and viceversa. However, do you think all poetry can be transformed into music?

I think that most if not all poems can be changed into music. There are so many genres of music just like there are themes for poetry. Some are more serious, some are silly. I find that good poems have a natural beat/rhythm that background music could be added to and then the poem can be sung.

Yes, I believe they are. Because poetry is to tell a story in not so many words, that allows you to see and feel where the poet is coming from. Which is pretty much the same for music, and if the artist is good you will be able to feel their emotions through the song.

Prose poems probably can't unless someone adapts them first, but poems with a definite rythm and rhyme structure, definitely!

I'd have said no earlier. But when Bob Dylan won the Nobel, I realized that music was indeed just poetry sung out to you.
