do you listen to music when you work?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

It depends; when I do light work, I put on some piano music and it feels really cozy working that way, but most of the time I need complete silence in order to focus.

I usually listen to music while reading or working out. When I'm working on a difficult task, I listen to instrumental music.

In the past, I could hardly do anything at work without music. But I realized I would be singing along more than I did any actual work :|.

In my office, we work with classical music. Though many do not like it. But I enjoy it.

I usually take my iPod to work because I love music. I can't even do without music. I listen to music while am working because it helps me eradicate all form and stress. It also help me to concentrate on my work which make my work more efficient and faster.

When there is music playing, it can be difficult to concentrate. It all depends on how I'm feeling.

Yes, I often do. Listening to music while at work increases my productivity and gives me more energy. However, sometimes especially when writing, I cannot resort to hearing one as it makes me mentally drained.

Physical work, a big yes, but when it comes to mental work, I prefer silence so as not to be distracted.

If working in groups, common motivating songs do wonders.

Definely yes. Listening to music is my escape in terms of boredom and exhaustion. I am actually listening to music right now while writing this comment.

honestly, I cannot imagine completing any sort of work with just pure silence in the background. I often like to listen to some heavy metal rock in the background to help me concentrate, as the beats keep me awake and pull me to the ground in a sense.
