do you listen to music when you work?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

Sometimes I need music to stay energetic and refreshed as I work, but most of the time I prefer silence so I can put my full power of concentration into the work I am doing, which is usually very mental (author, poet, editor, medical writer and editor). When the work is very mental, I'll need silence more often than not. If the work is rote or mechanical, I prefer music.

it depends on the mood, sometimes I like to listen, other times I just want absolute silence.

What about you?
2021 we don't use Ipods or CD players anymore but we do still listen to music when we work, it kinda makes work faster and be more productive, i don't know why

I had jobs where listening to music was not a problem, but there were also places where it was strictly forbidden. The truth is that yes, I like to listen to music while working if allowed.

I think the only music I'd be able to listen to without losing focus of what I'm doing is piano music.
