what's your idea of a "good song"?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

A good song for me when i could relate to the expressions of the artist, when i can feel vulnerable without denying or escaping from the reality. music that make me believe in the existence of soul and lyrically strong songs are always appreciated by everyone.

I know I have a preference for story-songs, just interesting songs that sound like they traveled with the artist and usually have a gravel-like of a unique voice.

The songs that evoke a certain feeling inside of me, which is so loud and deep that it cannot be resisted. Those that the heart is in love with which I listen to again and again.

For me the most important aspects are relatable lyrics and I need to hear the guitar… I really don’t know why, but it makes me happy.
In that sense, a sad song can be a good song, too. It’s not about the mood, rather about the feelings you get.

It's definitely a subjective topic where almost anything can be a good song depending on your tastes. In line with my tastes, a good song is simply one that holds my attention and isn't boring. Something that goes in interesting directions with its lyrics or melody rather than being monotonous, predictable or formulaic

For me a good song should be a balance of good music and good lyrics.

I can't put my finger on what makes me like a song. However, I do think a good song has to have a message that speaks to one. But that's not all, the rhythm of the song also matters.

It's something with which I can connect. A song with a message that I can understand and that is heartfelt is absolutely a nice song for me. That trend has a tendency to pique my interest in music, but I always enjoy playing songs in which I can understand the centrality.
