Time and Pleasurement

I forgot to remember to find pleasure today
I forgot to remember to look
Instead I yawned and I moaned and I worried and groaned
And somehow it seems I mistook
Time for a punishment
Love for a chore
Silence for botherment
And the mundane for a bore
And it bothers me now that I would
For I won’t have another chance at today
And did I take all from it that I could?
The worst perhaps is that I forgot remember
That the days may seem long but oh the years are so short
And that fact in all it’s glorious and unsettling truth
May be the single most relevant thing I’ve been taught.
