I would have serious reservations about that statement .... for a start, what is the definition of Smarter, smarter than whome and smarter at what?
However, I think any teacher or parent will confirm that music is useful in education in that most children seem to instinctively respond to music and like learning rhymes, songs etc

Actually, music does not only make children smarter:
- Music enhances creativity
- Music encourages movement
- Music encourages parents and kid draw closer together
- Music makes learning fun and interesting

Perhaps but I would still like you to define what you mean by smarter, smarter than whome and smarter at what?

Smarter, means active like in school, participating in different activities, confident enough on recitation and in any way...

I do not think that the music I listen to makes me anymore intelligent then what I already am, the only thing it does is hype me for a big event.

I think its a good attempt.. Kids music makes children smarter, Once the child is happy with their mood then everything goes smoother with their work.

Im not sure about 'smarter'... yet.
But i play music for my son before bedtime and in the morning i find him to be in a much better mood when he wakes up and is much relaxed and sleeps better.

I know Mozart makes kids smarter... But so far as goes kids' music... Are the words educational? Hm...

I think this might be true but I still have flashbacks of "Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea...". Charming with first kid, by the fifth it makes you want to hurt yourself...

With my experience with music I would say children are made smarter by music because music helps relieves stress and angry from building up and helps opens the mind of the child. Music also helps children remember things because they can remember a song or a jingle instead of someone talking to them in normal dialog. If you think back to when you were in school do you remember anything just because you think of a song?
