1. Tell us a bit about yourself.
I am now 71 years of age and serving as a volunteer at church, the local Optimist Club, Little League Baseball Coach and for my Neighborhood Association. I WAS A 35-year YMCA Administrator with a reputation for turning around troubled YMCAs into profitable operations. I was also a College Baseball Player and played Minor League Baseball for 2 years.
2. What does your writing process look like?
I like to write as if I am day-dreaming trying to use creative descriptive words, sentences and descriptions. Then I attempt to pull everything together a bit by putting on my grammer and sentence structure hat. My English classes in high school and college would often award me an A or A+ for writing skills and a C or D for grammer and sentence structure. Often I still get help for my grammer and sentence structure.
3. Let's discuss your book A Love Story Between 2 Worlds. Where did the idea for the book come from?
It is a true story with the goal of finding out what happened to the college love of my life, Peggy. Peggy disappeared from my life about the time we were to graduate from Washburn University in 1978. As I was about to retire from my 35-year YMCA career in 2014, a couple of retired FBI business partners I had made during my YMCA career suggested that they could help me find Peggy, perhaps with the use of a Psychic Medium, who had helped them solve cases over the years. Sure enough, sadly, they found out that Peggy had an abusive marriage, a thriving medical supply business and had been murdered. My book really has several plots, including two College kids falling in love, i.e., a love story, thus a Love Story. The baseball described in the book is because Peggy was a part of all the baseball described in this book. A lot of our romance was a part of my College and semi-pro and Minor League baseball experiences. Sadly, this book is also a murder mystery that happily is close to being solved as we pulled Peggy's death out of the cold-case files! Last but not least, the fourth theme of this book is my advancing Spiritual Education as Peggy has come back to me again but now from "the other side," i.e., the Spiritual side! I first realized this and described it in my book on April 28, 2020 - 5 years ago!
4. Do you believe in soulmates?
Absolutely! I believe Soul-mates can be friends, family and romantic soul-mates as Peggy and I are! I also know and believe that Peggy and I have lived roughly 300 lives together!
5. What is the ideal audience for the book?
My publishers like the fact that the book touches four distinct areas: spiritual/meta-physical, love story, murder mystery and a baseball story.
6. Is there a message that you wanted to convey to your readers?
The spiritual lessons Peggy has brought to me are that the " Age of Aquarius" is beginning now, just as the album by the 5th Dimension referred to 50 years ago! The 5th dimension refers to our spiritual selves, with the higher frequency vibrations at the 5th dimension. We are considered to be in the 3rd dimension most of the time in this lifetime. However, people like Jesus and Mother Teresa have obviously reached higher vibrational levels, while some people have dropped to the 2nd or 1st vibration, which is a lower and more dense and fearful vibration.
7. What's next for you? Do you have any books in the works?
Yes, I hope to update this current book for a third time and also write a daily devotional book, as well as publish a Mickey Mantle's scrapbook.
I like to end with lighter questions.
8. What's your favorite holiday and why?
Opening Day of the baseball season is around my birthday, April 2nd! It is a day of joy, hope and celebration of baseball, spring, crazy exciting weather, fun cloud formations and hope!
9. Would you rather be able to understand any language or speak to animals?
Speaking to animals is kind of a language in and of itself, as that would be my preference!
10. What literary character would you like to have a meal with and why?
Tom Sawyer because he was so full of wonder, exploration and imagination!
11. If you could invent any piece of technology, what would you want?
A synthesizer that would limit our brains and bodies' use of technology and get people back to doing more things outside and out of doors!

The narrative delves into Charlie’s telepathic relationship with Peggy, who appears frequently in both his real life and another dimension. He loses track of her in the physical world. Four decades later, he uncovers the tragic truth about her fate. Despite this, Peggy remains ever-present in the spiritual realm.
"A Love Story Between 2 Worlds" explores moments that blur the boundaries between the ordinary and the spiritual. Through candidly shared real-life experiences, the author vividly illustrates this notion. These encounters often provoke internal queries such as, "Did that truly occur?" or "Was that just my imagination?" Amidst the hustle of daily life, we often dismiss these occurrences as mere figments of our imagination or hallucinations. In doing so, we inadvertently overlook the chance to fully embrace and reflect on potential spiritual encounters, thus missing opportunities to expand our consciousness.
I found this book deeply enjoyable; it's concise, well-written, and possesses a beautiful simplicity. It unfolds as a spiritual love story, evoking strong emotional resonance. The lingering questions it leaves behind only heighten its intrigue.
While I understand that some readers may find the extensive focus on baseball intriguing, I personally found it overwhelming. This detracted from the overarching narrative, leaving me yearning for a deeper understanding of Peggy's character. Another drawback is the numerous grammatical mistakes—over ten. Though minor, they indicate the book needs professional editing. Overall, I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
"A Love Story Between 2 Worlds" is an extraordinary real-life romance that transcends boundaries, exploring both the spiritual and the mundane. It emphasizes that true love is timeless and never fades; instead, it blossoms and remains a precious treasure to cherish forever. I confidently recommend this heart-touching book to readers who appreciate stories that explore spiritual experiences and delve into introspective journeys.

The story begins with Charlie and Peggy's young college romance. But it's not just about their love story; it's also about life's unexpected twists and turns—how love can disappear and then return through a spiritual connection that goes beyond time, space, and even death. Charlie's baseball career, which took him through college, semi-pro, and minor leagues, adds a lot of depth to the story by showing not only his own highs and lows but also how Peggy was always there for him during those pivotal moments. As the narrative unfolds, readers are drawn into a deeply emotional mystery surrounding Peggy’s disappearance and tragic fate. What makes this even more powerful is the pursuit of justice and truth, breathing life into a cold case that had once been forgotten.
The depth of its spiritual content sets this book apart. The way Charlie describes his spiritual guidance and his reconnection with Peggy from the "other side" adds a new and moving dimension to the narrative. It's not just a tale of loss—it's one of rediscovery, purpose, and awakening.
People who enjoy heartfelt love stories, intriguing mysteries, spiritual exploration, and even sports narratives will all find this book to be ideal for them. Last Thoughts: "A Love Story Between 2 Worlds" is an experience that stays with you. It convinces you that true love is an eternal and unbreakable connection between souls that transcends time and space.

The book is a true story of the author's spiritual quest and his deep relationship with a figure from his past, Peggy. What begins as a collegiate affair takes a surprising turn decades later, when Charlie starts having what he describes as a spiritual awakening—initiated by a renewed relationship with Peggy in April 2020. How he accounts for their dialogue through "worlds" is haunting and thoughtful.
What moved me most was the truthfulness. Charlie doesn't try to be omniscient. He takes you with him as he navigates love, loss, healing, and self-discovery. Some sections are almost meditative, others were tear-jerking, but all of it extremely human.
Ayes, if you're interested in books on soul connections, spiritual awakening, and the secrets of love beyond physical, then this one's for you. It's the sort of book you don't speed-read—you drink it in.
Would highly recommend to readers who love spiritual memoirs, or anyone willing to read stories about love in a really off-the-beaten-path way.
