Book of the Day Promotion

Before posting in this marketing forum, please try to read 10 Step Plan to Promote Your Book: Online Book Marketing on Any Budget. This forum is mainly for followup questions and discussion after reading that book. This forum does indeed allow for much broader discussion of marketing and promotion than just that book, but it's good for everyone to be on the same page about the basics.

Please note, this forum is not for self-promotional plugs. It's for discussing how to promote your book or other writing.

Book of the Day Promotion

Post by Gasser55 »

On July 21, one of my books will be featured as, "Book of the Day." I have self-published two books which are available on Amazon... as have many of you fellow writers. So far, return on advertising has not been even close to the expense. My last hope is for, "Book of the Day," which, by the way... is not inexpensive. I am wondering if others in my predicament have experienced the same thing. I realize that millions of books are self-published yearly and I never did expect money to be flowing in. I only would like some distribution and get my stuff out there. I have legitimate reviews and my work is way better than much of the writing advertised on, "Book-Bub," which by the way will not accept my books for ads even though they charge a pretty penny. I would love to hear from those of you that have spent serious dough for, "Book of the Month," or, "Book of the Day." How did that work out for you? Did the sales results at least equal your cost? By the way, I was required to reduce my pricing to $0.99 which does not leave margin for recouping advertising fees. Please chime in.
