A relatively new book that I truly enjoyed was "The Golem and the Jinni" by Helene Wecker.

This was a wonderful book & I've recommended to all my friends, those who would appreciate this type of book. However the book is new and a couple of friends have it on order.

I created the topic to vote for the November and December books.

Please continue to use this topic to post new nominations for book of the month. As of the time of this post, nominations are currently for January 2014.

The only way I'm ever going to read the whole book is if others are, too, so how about Infinite Jest?

Can somebody please confirm - the run off for December as mentioned by Scott how do we vote or has Decembers book of the month been decided - it is going to be the Book Thief?

What is this link/forum now being used for? Nomination of books for January?

I don't like this rule. I wanted to nominate a book that I have been addicted to, so addicted that I am having nightmares about it. I want to read the book that comes after the first one but, it is 1.99 on amazon and I currently do not have the money for it. It is killing me from the inside out.

The Last Runaway by Tracy Chevalier
Blurb:
'Honor Bright is a sheltered Quaker who has rarely ventured out of 1850s Dorset when she impulsively emigrates to America. Opposed to the slavery that defines and divides the country, she finds her principles tested to the limit when a runaway slave appears at the farm of her new family. In this tough, unsentimental place, where whisky bottles sit alongside quilts, Honor befriends two spirited women who will teach her how to turn ideas into actions.'

I would like to second Krishome's suggestion & nominate "Snuff" too. Terry Pratchett is a great author & I have not read this book yet.

Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering why the October book of the month is still up on the site header when it is halfway through December? Was no book chosen for November or December? Thank you.

The book for November was 'The Book Theif' I don't know what the book for December is, so I have started reading some light Christmas fiction.
