I enjoyed reading it! I was a little nervous at first because of how violent it is, but I found myself hooked. I am also glad that the romance part was not overdone. The characters are well written and have enough back story to make them well rounded with out loading the book down with unnecessary information. I thought the book was wrapped up well.

Okay, so I wasn't going to read this months BOTM because I heard about it 3 days ago. But my curiosity got the better of me and I went on Amazon to see what the book was about. The synopsis reminds me of a few of Catherine Anderson's books, and in high school I LOVED reading her books. Of course, that means that two seconds after reading the synopsis I bought the book and I can't wait to read it!

I would like to say that this book provoked a great discussion. Since the book is a romance, I initially thought, "What are we going to talk about?" The story turned out to have many layers and wasn't only a romance. The historical and cultural elements made this a really good BOTM selection.

I did! It was a nice light read even with all of the different obstacles that befell Suzanne and Cody. It only took me 3 hours to finish the entire thing and I couldn't put it down. I gave this a rating of 3/4 and 4/5 stars. I will definitely be looking out for more books in the future. :D

The book started off with a bang and then it lost me for a little bit. I kept pushing myself to read more of it and slowly but surely I absolutely fell in love with the story and the characters. I wish that Suzanne had more of a voice in this. It felt like a lot of stuff happened to her that she did not reflect on or even really register. The second half of the book had a lot more Suzanne in it which I really appreciated. I felt like I got to actually know the character and some of the abuse mentality did come through adding a layer of realism the book was lacking. Overall I think that the book told a solid story that eventually made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I give it 3 out of 4 stars.

I thought it was realistic that Suzanne didn't refledct on what was happening or that it didn't even really register. When a catastrophic event occurs, people often go through the motions without any reflection. I would classify going back into time after a car accident and facing highly dangerous conditions as a traumatic incident that would cause someone to go into shock.

Still unsure of reading it but after reading everyone's opinions I'm leaning more towards reading it.

Even when a person is in shock they still have self preservation instincts. I would expect her to flinch when someone tried to touch her or at the very least panic a little. There was nothing but her being nice and pleasant. At least towards the middle she starts to show her self esteem issues and why she didn't fight back during all the trama.

I absolutely loved this book. I finished it in a little over a day! At first, I kind of thought it was a strange book, but the further I got into it I decided that I really enjoyed it.
