While the book had to be repetitive at times due to the plot, the movie's pacing allows you to follow the plot without getting bored. The soundtrack and acting were also amazing.

Zoey Deutch is simply amazing in this film. Her character had so much range to cover and the actress did not miss a beat. Logan Miller made a heartwarming Kent as well, and the two of them definitely made the movie worth watching in my opinion.

The movie is obviously slightly different from the book but a lot of things that work in a literary sense don't translate well to the screen, so I think they made some necessary changes.

I also feel like they hired an unconventional actor to play the typical romantic male lead and it was a very refreshing take.

I believe you should ALWAYS watch the movie before reading the book if at all possible, because it allows you to fully enjoy the movie without comparing it to the book.

That said, though I did actually enjoy the movie, when I read the book, it was (obviously) so much better. I will forever watch movies before books when possible, because it offers you a new way to experience the story you love multiple times.

I will forever advise for people to watch the movie first, and that way you'll be able to experience the story you love more than once without being disappointed.
