Love and Marriage: Cartoons about Imperfect People Managing Their Most Important Relationships by Art Hartz portrays all aspects of relationships, from dating—what we want, how we choose, winners and losers, and how we date—to marriage—love in marriage, support or lack thereof, communication, dissatisfaction, conflict, and maturing together—in a witty and funny way by using cartoons to depict and comment on romantic relationships. This book takes an in-depth look at romantic relationships and gives insight into smaller issues that we may experience on a day-to-day basis in our relationships instead of big issues that are normally discussed in relationship books, such as infidelity and mistrust, to name a few. The author begins with an introduction at the beginning of each chapter that discusses the topic more seriously in the upcoming comics for a deeper understanding.

I liked that the author took such a unique approach to such serious issues by turning it into a comic book, which made it a little easier to understand. This was a very enjoyable experience for me. This author has such a fascinating way of telling the stories of modern-day relationships that it made me think about my own relationships and how I have had these very experiences depicted in this book. If you have ever been in any kind of romantic relationship, it is easy to relate. You will likely find yourself drawn to one or more of these amazing illustrations. My favorite comic is in Chapter 1, where a man and a woman are on a date, and the man says, "Let’s discuss a cultural topic." And the woman replies, "DARN! I forgot. I have to babysit." It is a very accurate depiction of modern dating, where people are only interested in idle chit-chat instead of having meaningful conversations. This is a very insightful book and well worth reading.

There was nothing about this book that I disliked. It was so much better than I expected it to be, and I am glad I picked it up.

This book was exceptionally well-edited and very well-written. I found no errors. The illustrations are well done, and I found them to be quite funny. I rate this book a well-deserved five out of five stars.

This is such a fantastic read, and I recommend this comic book to everyone but especially people who enjoy relationship books, people who are seeking love, young adults, and mature audiences.
