Just watched it! Is her adoptive family normal humans?! Wow I got the wrong idea that they were all mermaids. Oops!

She's the only mermaid we see.The human/mermaid relationship is nicely addressed in some of the underlying themes, such as complete acceptance in an adoptive family and community activism.

Your excitement for this book is quite contagious, Donna. I will check out the video and take it from there as this is not a genre I would normally read. Having said that, your judgement is usually spot on so in all probability I will get to read it. As usual, a great review!

The graphic novel genre, at least at OBC, has a wide range of offerings, so I check it out every now and then. This gem was a delight. There are many layers to this brief story, and I am still in awe of the artisan coordination involved. The video is a treat--I do hope you enjoy it.
