I recently had the pleasure of reading the book Love and Marriage by Arthur Hartz. This book shows cartoons about imperfect people managing their most important relationships. It explores relationships such as marriage and dating. When dating, the author discusses the various things men look for in women and what women look for in men.

Arthur Hartz describes what goes on in our minds when choosing a partner for a long-term relationship. He simplifies our choice of partner to what we want, what we offer, and who wants what we have. He further explains the double standards in our expectations in that we want our partners to be better than they are but to tolerate our limitations and put us first when we put them second. There are tips to avoid marital problems by improving our communication skills, tolerance, and generosity.

What I liked most about this book were the cartoon aphorisms. They were artistically presented in a very relevant manner to help us better understand the message. I appreciated the lessons. I learned about the preferences of women in terms of body type and the status of men. I liked the author's use of humor and satire to address controversial issues.

I found nothing to dislike in this book. It was very engaging and thought-provoking from the first page to the last. Once I began reading, I did not put it down until I had finished. Also, he presents some blunt truths.

I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. It was professionally edited, and hence I did not find any grammar or spelling mistakes. I recommend this book to teenagers and adults interested in reading cartoon-like books. It has good advice that might help them in their relationships. I would love to read more from Arthur Hartz.
