Even Thor was the one among all the unworthy characters who maintained to be worthy, but the steve is the character recognition of what it have to be worthy to lift mjolnir.
Captain is the only leader to lead avengers for the longest time,this implies the importance of steve in the entire marvel universe.
I think this much is enough otherwise,
