Mrs. White's Sub Snips by Laura Moss White is a compilation of real-life experiences of substitute teachers. This comic book depicts the funny and downright awful moments of being a substitute teacher. Reading this book will truly bring a new kind of respect to these underappreciated and brave people.

I've always thought that being a substitute teacher was a challenging career. I can't imagine someone consciously choosing to stand in front of judgmental teens. And based on this book, that's not even the hard part about being a sub. The hardest challenge comes from the snobby full-time teachers who ostracized the subs.

Mrs. White's Sub Snips is an enjoyable book filled with funny and shocking bits from a sub's experiences. The art style is also great to look at. The comic strip is an excellent style for portraying short, funny stories. There's nothing to dislike about this book. The lack of color on the pages did not even affect my enjoyment while reading this comic. The author even suggests that it would make for a good coloring book.

That said, I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The drawings are interesting and great to look at, and the book was exceptionally edited. The stories are funny; I'm sure many subs will find the anecdotes relatable. From a student's point of view, the experiences of a sub are a bit sad because of how they are treated, but I liked that the author brought humor to this narrative.

I would recommend this to people who have experience as substitute teachers. I think they will relate the most to the anecdotes in this book. Generally, I would recommend this to anyone interested in flipping through pages of a funny comic. It's a funny and lighthearted read, which many people would want to pick up on a leisurely day.
