"Figments of Persuasion Field Guide" is a book written by Nancy L. Vallette and illustrated by Don Stephenson. It explores human feelings and their complexities, including detailed descriptions of the genesis of these emotions, their intentions, and modes of identification in people. The book is also a sure guide towards understanding why one feels certain kinds of emotions.

The author initiated a discussion concerning divergent figments around us. These figments emerge from human feelings, one’s environment, and situations. They spur our enthusiasm and revive our mental imagery, inspiring us to get curious and discover ways to understand our emotions. They lead me through a rollercoaster of nostalgia as I begin to remember my childhood imaginations. Some of these feelings are already known, while others arise from the consequences of one’s actions.

I love the rich illustrations all over the book, although they are colourless but unique, as they add life and animation to the author’s writings. With reference to readers’ encounters or emotions, the author adequately explains some terms in a way readers can understand. The illustrations used match the book’s content, and I love how it improves one’s imaginative abilities. Again, the author discusses reasons why we fail to recognise certain major feelings, such as dreams, empathy, and so on, and goes further to provide an exhaustive rundown of the scale of human emotions, focusing on their advantages and disadvantages in human life.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars, and I didn’t see anything to dislike about it. I enjoyed how the author brought together different emotional varieties in this book. The author and illustrator deserve some accolades for this well-thought-out piece of work. There were no errors found, as the editors did a flawless job.

I recommend it to readers who wish to explore the creative side of drawing and those who would love to delve into the world of humans and their emotions. Again, it would be a source of inspiration for creatives as a result of its rich illustrations.
