One of the main characters, Marcellus to be precise, irritated me. This surprised me as I am usually fine with historical fiction. The characters also seemed a bit to fantastical which made me unable to pay attention to the story.

It feels like a cross between young adult fantasy and historical fiction to me. I am enjoying some of the parallels with Marion Zimmer Bradley's Mists of Avalon. Even though Mists is Arthurian time frame, the imagery is very similar.

I don't plan on reading this one, it's just not for me. I'm glad others are enjoying it.

i read a couple reviews and many people seems to share this opinion so i dont know if ill give the book a try for now but ill definitly be in my tbr

This book seems well-researched and brought me into the past albeit a fictional version of it. I love historical fiction and fantasy. This book combined elements well. I would recommend this book for adults and YA readers. The writing was eloquent and I rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

I have been waiting for this discussion forum to go live. The reviews for both this book and its sequel highly recommend the series. I'm a great fan of time travel and ancient civilisation so I couldn't pass this by. I can't help wondering if it'll be equally as wonderful as the Outlander and Shanara series'. It has a great premise, a conflict of love always makes for a good read. Reading through the various discussion threads, it has certainly cast a high impact.

Hello everyone ! The book "Apollo's Raven", was a decent book. I like readying about books that take you back in time and make you just want to feel like you were there while it was going on. In some parts of the book, it made me want to feel more of what the characters were feeling and dealing with. I like how it dealt with fantasy and went back on time with history. I like the romance parts of the book too. I'm a hopeless romantic at times. I would like to see more action from the book. It would have been a little better. I would rate the book a 3 out of 4.

I loved reading Apollo’s Raven by Linnea Tanner. I could not put it down and has been my favorite book in this site so far.

My favorite aspect of the novel was the story of forbidden love between a Celtic princess and a Roman of the elite families. Tanner marvelously portrayed the chemistry between Catrin and Marcellus.

I also loved the setting of the novel. I have always been drawn to the history of the Celts and the Romans, so it was great reading about the different Celtic kingdoms and their conflicts with the Romans. I think the author did a solid job describing them, their traditions, and beliefs.

Another aspect I really liked was that Princess Catrin is a strong and fierce female lead. She is a warrior with mystical powers. She is bound to her people but is in love with the enemy. I deeply enjoyed the complexity of her story.

I would definitely recommend this book to my friends and family. Fans of historical must read it. I already pre-ordered the second book and cannot wait to read it.

Sen_Suzumiya wrote: 01 Sep 2018, 06:41 I loved the book. It was a travel in time and I admired the author's detailed descriptions of ancient civilizations. I didn't like the way the romance between Catrin and Marcellus was built, but perhaps I'm too fussy when it comes to romance. Nevertheless, I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars and I recommend it to people who love historical books with a twist of fantasy.
It seems to be a promising book. I will add it to my reading list.

Apollo's Raven has made me to love historical fantasy which i was once disapproved. It really captured my heart when i was going through it. Infact the writer is a man of understand. Nevertheless, the romance was not enough worthwhile, so i rate this book 3.5 of 4 stars and i recommend it to the readers to carefully peruse through the book.

I enjoyed the historical elements as well as the political intrigue, but my dislike of the characters and the romantic relationships took away from my overall enjoyment. I ended up giving it a 2 out of 4 stars.
