Excellent review! Extremely detailed and insightful. Unfortunately, war-themed books are too heavy for me because I can't handle death and destruction properly, so I think I'll pass.

I'm not a fan of reading trilogy books, especially if I haven't read the first one. However, the plot of this story seems intriguing. What can a person do to find ¨justice¨? Sometimes the only answer is revenge. And one cannot expect anything less that sadness and destruction with a war going on as the background. I'll think about this one.

Was confused by your review because the events you described happened during the first World War, not the second. A look at the book confirms it takes place during the First...probably just an oversight or a slip.

Thank you for the review. While I like the fictions set in WW2, I'm not sure about this one's YA frame, although it seems well set in the post-war period. In any manner, I should first consider reading the first part of the trilogy.
