Greetings and Dawn of the New Everything

Post by cupempty »

Hello from various places and London. I read more than there is a chance to discuss and so I have searched for and found the useful site in the hope that during your webtime you too hope to wake up the synapses which only happened alone.
Other books I have read or am reading and would like to discuss are Homo Deus by Yuval Noah Harari, Maldoror by Lautreamont, You are not a Gadget and Who Owns the Future by Jaron Lanier.

Dawn of the New Everything is the third book by VR pioneer Jaron Lanier or maybe the fourth which I am more than halfway through. I thoroughly enjoyed You A Not A Gadget and Who Owns the Future because they expand on very useful and terrifying current themes thematically with humour wit and a lot of unexpected connections.
I read about VR because I think it is so dangerous not only as a waste of money on fantasy ideas for military complexes but also the continued impact on the learning and appreciation of the senses. Lanier himself who advocates virtual reality as the new everything for example to keep us entertained in self deiving cars, is full of warning about thw misuse. But he will not stop giving fools ideas to corrupt the masses with simply because it is what he does. I am fascinated by the creative side of the and would like to know your thoughts or what you think of this book.
