Wonderful review! I did not know what to expect from the title, however, this conglomeration of memoir, family stories, and humorous incidents sounds too interesting not to read. This is going to be TBR list.

The title of the book gave an impression of an actress's struggle but I was wrong. The review is well written and it gives the impression that the author has covered all the concerns of a salesman or a retailer. Managing business and family at the same time is challenging and it needs lot of family support. I think this book is a must buy for those who wants a successful family life and business life.

I love a good success story, and I'm interested to see which changes that the author made to the family business actually worked--and maybe which ones didn't. I'm glad that the repo stories are filled humor; I can't really handle the tension which typically accompanies such tales. I'll try and give this a look when I have the time, especially since there is a downloadable version now. Thank you for the helpful review.

Personally i love sales. I dont have a retail store or business. Sometimes I go to a flea market and sale stuff. Is good to read a book like this with a success story in all aspects. Not just economically. But in life as a family. Congratulations on BOTD.

Call of the Couch by Larry Schneiderman is going to be timely and very useful for me as I embark on a new phase of my life - entrepreneurship with my family. There are pros and cons to family businesses. First pro is the shorthand in communication as you've known each other all your lives. Besides, you can argue and even fight over an issue and still be a family. Trust has been built-in all throughout your life. The biggest con is the difficulty of treating each other objectively at times as business partners and not family, especially during delicate issues where the choice is between the welfare of the business and the interest of a family member involved in the business. That's where team unity is going to be tested. I hope to get insights from this book, especially in the area of sustaining growth, innovation and expansion, and customer service and relations, the frontline of retail businesses. I'm glad to learn from cpru68 that the book is well-written, there are many humorous anecdotes in the book and the author gives a lot of advice on customer service. Congratulations to the author!

This sounds like an interesting book to read. The title draws me to this book. I like books filled with humour and growth. This book didn't come short of any, and that has piqued my interest in the book. Thanks for the review.

I'm not interested in business, nor am I planning to become a salesman in future. So this book doesn't attract me. Anyway, congrats on BOTD.

From the title itself I didn't expect it to be about business.

When I read the title of this book, I thought "oh wow! Somebody is so in love with their couch that they even wrote about it." Well, reading the book description dissuaded me of that idea. Reading this review was very informative and persuasive. :tiphat:

What a great review! An autobiography with a difference. I love autobiographies and the inspiration that comes from reading them. This one sounds like a wee gem.
